Brentford won their penultimate friendly away at Croydon, with two weeks to go till the bug kick off at Carlisle.
Brentford's early goal came from former Croydon player Moses Ademola, his second strike in four days, in a tightly contested game in Thornton Heath
Brentford again fielded a team littered with young players and triallists (with David Hunt and Nathan Elder the only established first teamers), but the overall performance was not particularly good, and Croydon could easily have taken something from the match
Ryan Blake again put in a decent performance at full back, and the young defender may yet break through at first team level over the next season.
It is likely that Andy Scott will decide on the future of triallists Billy Lumley, James Simmongs, and Bentley Graham early this week. We should also be approaching some news on Alan Bennett.... possibly around the start of August....
Bees - Lumley, Ferrell, Blake (Butt), Graham, Legge, Franks, Pitt (White), Hunt (Allen), Ademola, Elder, Simmons (Vassell)
Brentford's last friendly is next Saturday, away at Hayes and Yeading, before the big League One kick off at Carlisle on August 8th.
In other Bees news, former favourite Gary Blissett was in the Griffin pub last night, sharing tales with a posse of Bees fans. A good night all round apparently.
