Strevens and Dickson closing in on return

According to reports from the BBC, left back Ryan Dickson and striker Ben Strevens are closing in on a return to first team action in the near future.

Bees manager Andy Scott told BBC London 94.9 'We're hopeful Dicko will train on Thursday. Strev has been doing some kicking, he's probably two weeks away.'

'The work they have put in has been outstanding, the fitness of both the lads has been terrific.'

Beesotted reckons that the return of both players cannot come quick enough - the impact that Dickson's absence has had on the team has been all too apparent as we have not only missed his own overlapping flair but Andy Scott has been forced to shift other players out of position to cover his absence ('rearranging the deckchairs on the titanic' as one miserable sod put it after Saturday's defeat at Yeovil).

Although Ben Strevens has yet to make a competitive start - his injury coming one week before the season - he showed enough in pre-season to prove that he should be a more than adequate foil for Charlie Macdonald. He has also impressed in action against us in the past, most notably in the 3-1 defeat at Dagenham in April.
