Cort scores timely brace for reserves

Striker Carl Cort helped Brentford reserves to a 3-1 win at Griffin Park this afternoon, scoring twice in an impressive performance.

Brentford's opener came from former Millwall man Mark Phillips, whilst Andy Frampton lined up against The Bees.

Cort's goals will give Andy Scott a selection headache ahead of Saturday's clash with the pikeys, as most expected new signing John Akinde to be given a first start.

Brentford fielded a fairly strong line-up this afternoon, including a couple of triallists and youth players. Lionel Ainsworth impressed in his first start in Brentford colours :

Lewis Price, Karleigh Osborne, Kano Smith, David Hunt, Mark Phillips, Alan Bennett, Lionel Ainsworth, Toumani Diagouraga, Carl Cort, Sean Lucien, Sam Saunders.

Subs : Simon Moore, Lewis Ferrell, Fraser Franks, Jake Reeves and Pelayo Gomez.
