'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Daggers out for Scott

Andy reacts to supporters booing after last night's heavy defeat....

Andy's message to the fans:

When we were 12th there were rumblings. Everyone expects us to be up there. I want to be up there as well. I`m hurting, they`re hurting. If they don`t think I`m hurting as much as they are, then they are very very wrong.

It does hurt me that they are vocal in that respect, but it doesn`t mean I`m going to do anything different from what I`ve been doing. I`ll be working just as hard as I have been to make sure we turn it round and to make them proud of this side. I believe I`ve done that in the last three years. I just ask them to keep the faith. Whether they do or not is up to them, but I can only promise them that we are working as hard, if not harder if that is possible, to keep going.

I`m doing my job, until told otherwise. There is no point talking about it. I am working hard to turn it round. If they have an opinion it is up to them.

Andy's view on our defending last night:

The goals they scored were just very poor from our point of view.

We didn`t stop the cross for the first one. The second we got caught on the counter. We didn`t squeeze down on the fourth one. We didn`t squeeze down for the second ball and they broke and scored a goal and we switched off for a throw in. Four elementary mistakes and they cost us

It`s driving me berserk. We`ve got players who can do it and they`ve got to grow some balls and not feel sorry for themselves if they make a mistake.

We all make mistakes at work. But you don`t feel sorry for yourself; you get on with it, especially when there are people paying money to watch you. Grow some balls, get some heart and get on with it.

Andy's message for his players:

Listen, they are doing the best job in the world. Everyone would love to be a footballer. Why are they feeling sorry for themselves? They are in a very privileged position and sometimes they forget about that and feel sorry for themselves when they make a mistake. So what? Get on with it.

There`s never anywhere for anyone to hide on a football pitch. They should love getting on the pitch and playing. That is better than training, getting out on the pitch and people watching you. Go and prove how good you are, prove you can do the job and prove people wrong. That`s what I`ve always done in my career and I keep doing it. We need to make sure we have enough of them on the pitch doing it at the same time.

Andy's view on his loanee wingers last night:

I thought Nicholas did well. Very direct and dynamic. Lewis took a little while to get on it but had a few chances in the first half but wasn`t on target.
