'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Chesterfield Preview

In a game that has no meaning to either club the final game of the season is already upon us.

Chesterfield have been relegated while Brentford sit in ninth place without the opportunity of finishing any higher or lower than that.

Sam Wood has come back from loan at Rotherham after seeing his first team opportunities curtailed following Steve Evans move into the management chair there. He is unable to play for Brentford at Chesterfield due to league rules. Sam's contract with Brentford runs out this season so it's likely to be the last we see of him. It's a shame to see him go as his verve on the pitch is something we have missed in parts this season.

Another player we will probably not see again is Karleigh Osborne - who seems very keen not to renew his contract. Marcus Bean whose contract is also up and Shay Logan may or may not be offered new terms by Uwe who has said he will be talking to all his players about next season on Monday and Tuesday. Those definitely on the move include Craig Woodman who has been transfer listed and Ryan Blake who is currently training with Lincoln City hoping to sign on there.

Myles Weston may make a comeback following six weeks out injured and Simon Moore should continue in goal with Richard Lee still out with a shoulder injury.

Prediction:

Chesterfield 1-2 Brentford
