Transfer news

An early close-season round-up of Brentford ins and outs...

Brentford released three first teamers this week in the form of Karleigh Osborne, Sam Wood and Marcus Bean. Osborne is apparently attracting interest from Forest, Hull and Charlton whilst Bean has been linked with Stevenage.

Kevin O'Connor is now the only remaining player from the League Two winning 2008/2009 squad.

Craig Woodman is currently the only player on Brentford's transfer list but Beesotted would not be surprised to see him joined by Pim Balkestein or Marcel Eger who both appear to have fallen out of favour in TW8.

Uwe Rosler has talked of the need for SIX new faces this summer - meaning a first team squad of 20 or 21 backed by academy players.

Rosler claims Brentford have already offered deals to three players - quite possibly former loanees Harlee Dean, Jake Bidwell and Adam Forshaw.

Dean has been released by Southampton whilst the future of the two Everton youngsters is still in the balance - if Everton retain their services it is believed that we would try and secure season long loans.

The Bees have also been linked in the media with Scott Robertson, a Scottish international midfielder who currently plays for Dundee United - scoring their winning goal against Celtic last weekend. We potentially face competition from MK Dons and other undisclosed clubs - as well as Dundee United - for his signature.

Rosler has talked of having four senior strikers next season - so with Clayton Donaldson the only frontman currently on our books this could mean as many as three new signings in this area.

Various former Bees are also looking for new clubs - AFC Wimbledon have released Fraser Franks, Chris Bush and Brett Johnson whilst Notts County have waved farewell to Sam Sodje and Stuart Nelson.
