Walsall 2-2 Brentford

Brentford fought back from two down with just six minutes left on the clock.

After a slow start from both sides, who appeared to be checking each other out, Brentford started to create some good chances, with Douglas and Donaldson having the pick of the them. Unfortunately, we were caught up the pitch when Walsall broke away and Paterson was able to beat Moore for the lead. Within a minute the Saddlers were two up when a slip on the left allowed Bowerman through on goal to stroke the ball passed Moore. I'm not sure if it was Craig or Barron at fault but it was someone from Millwall. What have we ever done to them eh?

The bees were a bit shell-shocked at this time and it was only a few minutes later when Uwe decided to replace Dave with Forshaw to try and give us a little more forward momentum. Forshaw's good work and even better crossing created pressure for the bees at the beginning of the second half but with few real chances being created. Kev was replaced by Hayes on 65 mins to go three up front and put the pressure on. Farid hit the bar with a great swivel and shot.

Douglas was like a man possessed trying to get the bees back into the game and finally cracked it with a shot from outside the box on 85. Within 5 minutes Donaldson headed into the net from a very acute angle to send the bees faithful wild. There's always something wonderful about a comeback!

Some good performances with Farid being immense and Clayton scoring goals, Hayes is clearly class so it's looking good up top. Forshaw Forrester and Adeyemi started on the bench showing we have some real depth there too. Bidwell finally made his second debut with 15 minutes to go and hopefully he'll be able to help with the goals against statistic, which is currently quite worrying.

Moore; Logan, Craig, Dean, Barron (sub Bidwell 76 mins); Saunders, O'Connor (sub Hayes 65 mins), Douglas, Dave (sub Forshaw 37 mins); Donaldson, Farid.

Subs (not used): Lee, Adeyemi, Forrester, Legge.
