Stubborn Bees earn late draw

Brentford earned a well deserved point at Prenton Park yesterday through a late Jonathan Douglas goal

Uwe Rosler had tinkered tactically before the game, bringing in O'Connor, Fredericks and Hayes and thwarting Tranmere with a 4-5-1 formation.

The tactic worked pretty well in terms of possession although Brentford conjured up few chances to open the scoring

Instead it was table topping Tranmere who took the lead in the second half shortly after Rosler had made two subs - Akpo Akpra getting the better of Harlee Dean and finishing superbly past Simon Moore

Just when it looked like a case of 'Same Old Brentford', Uwe's men showed their mettle when a 'bloody' Clayton Donaldson 'bloody' long throw deep in injury time was prodding home from ten yards by an improvising Jonathan 'bloody' Douglas. Marvelous. We love it when a plan comes together.

Cue mass hysteria among the travelling fans and the ceefax watchers at home.

The goal might have come late but the point was much deserved. Some supporters dislike Uwe's tinkering but in many ways we got things spot on yesterday, certainly in the first half. Now we just need to find a cutting edge.

Bees - Moore, Logan (Forshaw), Bidwell, Dean, Craig, Superkev, Douglas, Adeymi, Forrester (Saunders), Fredericks, Hayes (Donaldinho)
