Brentford have today signed Wigan defender Rob Kiernan on loan until January 2nd.
The Irish centre half - who skippers his national side at U21 level - worked with Mark Warburton as a youth at Watford.
Kiernan actually spent a week at the Bees in the summer with a view to signing a permanent deal in TW8 but was instead snapped up by Roberto Martinez who apparently rates him highly as an emerging talent.
Whilst Kiernan is yet to feature for Wigan, the 21 year old did play six games for Burton in a loan spell earlier this season.
Rob will go straight into the squad for Saturday's trip to Preston and will be competing with Harlee Dean and Tony Craig for a starting berth in the absence of the injured Leon Legge.
