Bees snatch point

Brentford scored a late equaliser at Preston yesterday through 20 year old sub Antonio German.

The Bees hadn't been at the races in a first half dominated by the home team and had Simon Moore to thank for the goalless score-line

The Bees improved a bit in the second half, most notably when Paul Hayea came on and held the ball further upfield.

PNE had taken the lead around the hour mark when some sustained pressure following a corner led to Scott Laird scoring acrobatically. A man left up pitch might have helped prevent the goal.

Moore again came to the rescue as Preston looked to increase their advantage but a surging run and cross from Harlee Dean led to German snatching a point. Uwe's celebration seemed to annoy Westley in the home dugout but the dislikeable Preston boss and his associated goons had been needling Rosler throughout.

Rosler talked after the game about his hope that German would now push on to become a regular part of the squad. Brentford are unbeaten in six but will need to perform better at Swindon midweek.

Bees - Moore, Logan, Bidwell, Craig, Dean, Forrester (Barron), Forshaw (German), Saunders (Hayes), Douglas, Diagoraga, Donaldson

Unused Bees - Lee, Kiernan, Dallas, Oyeleke
