McCormack - We're Reaping What We Sow
31 year old Alan McCormack has said that the Brentford players are now getting the rewards for all the hard work they are putting in on the training pitch under current gaffer Lee Carsley.
Speaking to the Official Site in his own post game press conference, McCormack explained that Carsley had certainly made the players redouble their efforts on the training pitch since he took charge, and it's that hard work that is now seeing us to results.
'We`ve continued on what we started against Rotherham. Lee`s been getting on to us about not just doing your own job, but doing two peoples on the pitch - if that means marking and covering space or filling in for a man when he`s out of position and doing a job that you`re not usually doing. This team building that we`re doing to win games; you saw it on the pitch today, our confidence is coming back, the quality on the ball. Judgey again today, he`s a step above everybody and if we can keep feeding him and keep giving him the ball, he`s going to create a lot of chances with Swifty alongside him.'
McCormack went on to really praise fellow countryman Alan Judge for his performances full stop, but certainly in yesterday's game with him getting our second of the day.
'He`s brewing with confidence at the moment. Going away with the Ireland team has helped him because he`s come back from that and stepped up a level. We can help him do that by pushing him in training every day. They`re some good players here, he gets pushed and you can see that in the games.'
Speaking generally about the changes that Carsley has brought in since his appointment last month, the experienced player just said it was about the desire and determination he'd re-instilled in everyone more than anything.
'He`s brought that high intensity back in. You`re walking off the training pitch heavy legged because he demands the utmost as he`s played at the highest level in this country in the Premier League most of his career; you do respect what he`s saying.'
