Canos' Double Burton Delight

Canos' Double Burton Delight

Brace goalscorer against Burton Albion at the weekend, Sergi Canos was obviously the player pick to go in front of the media following the full time whistle.

Having trailed three one at the half time break at the Pirelli Stadium, Canos had got on the scoresheet and he completed his brace in the second period alongside two goals from Lasse Vibe and a Jota effort to give us the five three victory and Canos was obviously delighted with the classic game of two halves.

Speaking to the Official Site as he met with the media following the game, a delighted Canos explained.

'We made two mistakes in two set pieces and that was difficult to take. Then after half time I think the subs and the players that were playing; it was just unbelievable.'

With him getting the brace on the day, he went on to say that he had been talking with his family about adding more of a goal threat to his game, so he was pleased to see that play a part in our comeback.

'There was a lot of talking with my family. Saying when am I going to score and I said to them 'they will come, I just have to do everything right` and finally they came today. The first one was a fantastic ball from Romaine and I just had to put my feet on the ball. It was a good goal. The second was the hardest goal I have score in my short life in football. Because it was all in slow motion. I scored with my left foot and didn`t know if it was going in.'

With a victory lifting spirits as we go into the March international break now, Canos knows that it was important for us to rest now and be ready for the coming games as the season draws to a close.

'The result will give us confidence and belief after the game against Wolves. I mean this group of players, we have a lot of quality. We play some good football and make some mistakes sometimes, but that`s football. Hopefully we can learn from that.'

Adding.

'Hopefully there will be more ups than downs. We`re young but that`s no excuse. The performance from the second half; you can see we`re young, but we can play in this league and beat teams.'
