Huddersfield stifled by hardworking Bees

Brentford gained a creditable point at in-form Huddersfield - and more impressively prevented the home side from scoring.

With Carl Cort injured, Brentford started with the forward pairing of Kabba and Macdonald. Myles Weston reverted to the left of midfield in place of Sam Saunders and James Wilson replaced Danny Foster at right back.

Macdonald missed a good chance to score just before half time and former Bee Jordan Rhodes fluffed a 5 yard header shortly after the break before being substituted later in the match.

Brentford's best chance fell to Cleveland Taylor after some good approach play from Kabba, but the former Carlisle man failed to hit the target after sliding in on the 6 yard line

Alan Bennett then saved the Bees a point with a later goal-line clearance

All-in-all another decent performance from this well organised Brentford team. Most fans will be happy with a point - and a clean sheet- but the Bees really do need to improve in front of goal if they are to continue in the top half of the table.

The result leaves Brentford in ninth place although they could be overtaken by Norwich who face MK Dons on Monday night

The injury to Cort also meant that Brentford went into the match without a recognised striker on the bench - something that Andy Scott may try to rectify via an emergency loan.

Bees - Price, Wilson, Wood, Bennett, Phillips, Taylor, Hunt (Bean), Superkev, Weston, Kabba (Saunders), Macdonald

Unused subs - Foster, Legge, Osborne, Blake, Bull
