Exeter 3 - Bees 0

St James Park

3pm, 31st October 2009

Attendance: 5355 (500 odd Bees)

Bees battered by Exeter

Brentford served up a rotten performance at Exeter to lose 3-0 in a Halloween horror show.

Exeter had Marcus Stewart sent off in the second half but were already ahead thanks to goals from Cozic, Tully and Noone.

This result is frankly a stinker and Andy Scott needs to act fast to sort out our obvious deficiencies or it's a long hard winter ahead for the Bees. In short we continue to leak stupid goals, our midfield doesn't command games and we are one paced up front.

If it hadn't been for goals handed on a plate to us by Southend and Stockport then our league position would be far far worse.

Next Saturday's FA Cup banana skin at Gateshead also looks less and less appealing.

For those looking for any positives, Ryan Dickson had a fairly decent game yesterday and Karleigh Osborne did pretty well as substitute.

Bees - Price, Foster, Phillips (Osborne), Wilson, Dickson, Taylor (Saunders), O'Connor, Bean, Wood (Weston), Cort, Macdonald.

Brentford now lie in 16th place in the league with 17 points from 15 games.

Beesotted's View :

At the risk of boring even myself we need a loan midfielder that helps us control games.

With Strevens returning from injury, we MIGHT have enough up front in the shape of Ben, Cort and Macdonald - but they need to receive some proper service.

Phillips injury - hidden from Andy Scott apparently - probably gives Karleigh Osborne the chance to show he has improved and can now make an impact at first team level. Those who watch reserve games suggest that he has played pretty well and is a vocal organiser.

Alan Bennett was absent with an ankle injury today incidentally - and Brizzle City have kindly given us permission to use James Wilson in the FA Cup.

Andy Scott :

It's a case of them needing to believe that the things we were doing at the beginning of the season and last year was the right thing. Players aren't sticking to the game plan and all of a sudden we fall apart
