A Ben Strevens header was enough to seal all three points - and a consecutive one nil away win - as both teams were reduced to ten men.

Charlie Mac was the Bees player dismissed after picking up two bookings so will not face Charlton tomorrow. The home crowd played a large part in the first yellow card - given for diving - but there were no complaints about the second. Josh Gowling had earlier been sent off for a foul on Macdonald.

Lewis Price replaced the injured Szczesny in goal for Brentford who were also missing Ryan Dickson at left back. Leon Legge, who has been outstanding recently, is also thought to have been injured during the game, and faces a race to get fit to face Charlton.

The game was pretty scrappy and Strevens wasted a great first half opportunity to make the points more secure. Lewis Price made a couple of excellent one-on-one stops and Gillingham had a number of free kicks in decent positions which they wasted as the away supporters chewed off their fingernails.

Anyway, it's a lovely win away at the horribly pikey hellhole, let's hope it helps get them relegated.

Bees - Price, Foster, Legge (Bennett), Balkestein, Wood, Hunt (Saunders), Strevens (Murphy), O'Connor, Bean, Weston, Macdonald

Andy Scott :

'After the first 25 minutes we were comfortable, we dealt with everything. I don't think they had a chance after that.

It's a good win, we are only the second team to win here. We are delighted'
