Brentford secured a first home win of the championship season on Saturday in an exciting end-to-end five-goal thriller.

Griffin Park was the place to be at the weekend as a highly entertaining encounter with Brighton & Hove Albion eventually ended with us running out 3-2 victors.

Brighton started well and went close through Andrew Crofts, but he shot just wide.

The visitors really should have gone down to 10-men though when Andre Gray seemed to be away from Lewis Dunk who hauled him down but escape a red card, only being issued a yellow with Brighton then having another chance through Sam Baldock. Having rounded David Button but James Tarkowski got back to cover and clear off the line.

Moses Odubajo (18) the drove us into the lead from an angle with Gray (32) then doubling our lead when he turned home Jake Bidwell's cross, but Brighton were back in the game before half time when Gordon Greer (39) volleyed home.

Bidwell was again involved in our third, 10-minutes into the second half, as he crossed into Jonathan Douglas (55) and he slammed home to extend our lead to two-goals again.

Once more though the visitors reduced the deficit when Danny Holla (61) curled home from 25-yards you make it three-two, and that is how it ended with Mark Warburton delighted with the points.

After the game he said: 'Three points was very important. This was a big game against a club who were in the play offs last season with good, strong technical players.

'From 15 to 40 minutes we were as good as we have been this season.

'I'd have preferred us to start faster - we talk about that a lot - but perhaps we couldn't because they were very good. The fact is we weathered it and scored on the break before playing some fantastic football.'
