Brentford 0-3 Norwich City
A run of three wins from the last four gave Brentford a chance to move above our opponents had we won our latest championship game on Tuesday night.
Griffin Park's meeting with Norwich City proved a game too many for Brentford though with three second half goals seeing the visitors through to a 3-0 win.
We weren't without chances though and could have been three-up by half time had Andre Gray been able to take his three chances. Stuart Dallas' cross just needed a touch from him to put it into an empty net but he couldn't quite connect.
The former Luton Town mans other effort was fired just wide before Jos Hooiveld deflected wide another of his strikes as the sides went in goalless at the break.
Having held out Norwich finally made the break through at the midway point of the second when the visitors made the most of a James Tarkowski mistake, Wes Hoolahan robbed him in midfield to cross to Alexander Tettey (68) who opened the scoring.
Hooiveld seemed to have fouled Alex Pritchard, and as we appealed for a spot kick Norwich broke away with Steven Whittaker crossing to Cameron Jerome (75) and he headed home to extended the lead a few minutes.
Jerome (83) smashed home from 25-yards to secure the three-nil win and kill off any hopes of a Bees revival.
After the game Brentford boss Mark Warburton said: 'From 15 minutes onwards we were very good and John Ruddy was the busier of the two keepers. We should have been ahead at half-time.
'When Pritchard goes down in the final third am I the only one who thought that was a penalty? Maybe I should go to Specsavers if I am.'
