Brentford's Championship season continued with a four-two against Huddersfield at Griffin Park on Saturday to go into Christmas with the points and very much back in the play-off picture.

Liverpool loanee Sergi Canos had Brentford off to a great start when he opened the scoring on five-minutes curling home and by the time a little over half an hour had been played it had become three-nil!

Lasse Vibe, put through by James Tarkowski, and Alan Judge, with his freekick finding its way into the corner, added to the early goal to see Brentford three-up at half time.

Huddersfield got a goal back immediately after the break through Joe Lolley but Judge scored from the spot to extend the lead again after Ben Chilwell had fouled him in the area.

Kyle Dempsey grabbed an injury-time consolation for the Terriers with this win moving Brentford back to within two-points of the top six with a great reaction shown to the defeat at Cardiff in midweek.

These were the other results.

Some interesting results with some expected outcomes, and some not so!

Middlesbrough consolidated their place at the top of the Championship, and ended Brighton unbeaten start to the season, with a resounding three-nil win at the Amex Stadium to know they'll go into Christmas top of the pile.

It's been a difficult few weeks for Burnley but the Clarets got back to winning ways with a resounding four-nil win against struggling Charlton with another struggling side Rotherham causing an upset to see off the challenge of Hull with Neil Redfearn's side winning two-nil at the New York Stadium.

Rivals Derby and Nottingham Forest also collected good wins against Ipswich and MK Dons respectively.

On Sunday we saw a great result for Sheffield Wednesday with the Owls going into Christmas with a four-one win Wolves at Hillsborough with the second Brian McDermott era of Reading beginning with a one-nil win over Blackburn, who had been on an unbeaten run, at the Madejski Stadium.
