Little Jay Tabb is a lovely young man who warmed the heart of many a hardened Brentford fan.

The diminutive yet plucky midfielder was released by Crystal Palace as a youth over fears that he would be too small to make it as a professional player.

After a slow start to his Brentford career he really came into his own in the 2005-2006 season with his wholehearted and passionate approach to the game - aligned to some great skills and mobility.

When he left the club for Coventry he showed his mutual respect for the fans by posting on the GPG messageboard. He won the player of the year award at Coventry in his first season, moving to Reading in 2009
